Hunting after the hoax.
Election season is back,so is the mentioning of sentimental appeals. Today PM Modi inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor which is a project worth ₹800 crore. That it seeks to not only solve the issues of congestion but to
also change the temple complex. It's been said that this project is one of the dream projects of PM Modi which aims at restoring the bygone magnificence. In India religious issues go hand in hand with elections. One party or the other tries to win over the voters by proclaiming populist schemes to be launched if voted to power. At times such schemes make way for religiosity. India is a country where people wear sentiments on their sleeves. An appeal to Indians based on their emotions could change the fate of a political party. Political parties in power keep the issues pertaining to religion untouched until elections arrive. As the atmosphere gets imbued with election fervor the hot button issues like that of religiosity raise its ugly head. Not long ago had Akhilesh Yadav introduced the name of Mohammed Ali Jinnah by crediting him as much as other nationalists for India's freedom. This attracted backlash from his opponents. BJP, invariably, has been cashing in onto the free hit gifted by the former CM. India's most populated state stands third in multidimensional poverty. There's been a rise of 46% in complaints of crimes against women in 2021. The annual income of UP is ₹44600 which is about half of the national average. UP has the worst pupil-teacher ratio in the country which indicates towards a pendancy in recruiting the teachers. Issues associated to unemployment show government's insensitivity towards its subjects. Competitive examination question papers get leaked as water from shabby pipes. The opening of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor may provide some political dividends to BJP but in the long run, neglecting the issues which form the backbone of any economy can throw the state into crumbling nothingness.
